Man cries “help!” Men do feel his need of Me. All unmindful of countless times I draw near unheard, pass on unnoticed, speak to deaf ears, touch brows fretted and wrinkled by earth’s cares. “The Christ is dead,” man says. He’s Alive and still longing, for this fuller living tenderness.
I passed this way today. yet he heeded not.
Man hears the storms, the wind, and the earthquake, and his ears still pulse with the echoes he hears a still small voice.
And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess;but be filled with the Spirit. Ephesians 5:18 Rest more with Me. If I, the Son of God, needed those times of quiet communion with My Father, away, alone, from noise, from activity, each of you then surely you need them too.
Refilling with the Spirit is a need. That dwelling apart, that shutting yourself away in that secret place of your being; away alone with Me.
From these times you come forth in Power to bless and heal, to Cease Rest more with Me. If I, the Son ofGod, needed those times of quiet with MyFather, away, alone, from noise, from activity; the surely you need them too.

“But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone:”
There is no amount of good works we can do to save ourselves from being eternally separated from God.
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”
To be separated from God forever, simply do nothing. To ignore or reject God’s son is the only sin that can keep a person out of Heaven and the only alternative to Heaven is eternal torment in the Lake of Fire (Revelation 20:15, 2 Thes. 1:7-9).
“He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that believes not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name OF the only begotten Son of God.” https://www.youtube.com/thelifeofjesus
But there is good news!
There is a simple and free way to be reconciled with God made possible by God’s only son Jesus. A blood sacrifice was needed to pay for your sins and Jesus was sent to become that sacrifice. He was nailed to a Roman cross to shed His blood in payment for your sin. Then three days after His death, He rose from the dead, validating once and for all His qualification to be our only Savior.
Placing your complete trust in Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection is God’s one and only means of reaching Heaven.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.”
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
This is a free gift from God because He loves you.
What does Jesus pray when He intercedes for us? This is important to know, because in finding the answer to that question we can discover God’s plan and purpose for us. And that is the objective of prayer: to align our wills with the will of God.
In John 17 we have the greatest prayer ever prayed, which is Jesus’ prayer for us. In verse 11 Jesus prayed, “Now I am no longer in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to You. Holy Father, keep through Your name those whom You have given Me, that they may be one as We are.”
Jesus
prayed for our preservation. God wants us to be strong spiritually. God
want us to cross the finish line with flying colors. We all know people
who have made a profession of faith and were growing so much
spiritually that we may have even looked up to them as spiritual
leaders. But then one day they crashed and burned. They simply walked
away from the faith.
We may think,
“If someone like that fall, then maybe I could fall, too. Am I next?”
“Sin will take you farther than you want to go, keep you longer than you want to stay, and cost you more than you want to pay” Attributed to Ravi Zaccharias Listen to our message “But encourage one another day after day, as long as it is still called ‘Today’, so that none of you will be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin” (Hebrews 3:13).
Last Friday we shared a message titled “A Lesson From Yeast” a teaching that even a little bit of something (like yeast) can result in a lot of good or a lot of bad. The progression of a little matter becoming bigger and bigger and more and more destructive is a consequence of “the deceitfulness of sin”.
We have seen many illustrations of this in our ministry. People dabble and then dabble more, than they are caught in sin’s trap. We are always sensitive regarding confidentiality but an older recollection comes to mind going back some 15 years. I was in a small prayer group and one of the members seemed to have an earnest walk with the Lord. However he became involved with another woman who was not his wife and just crashed. Now admittedly I don’t know the specifics but likely it was a progression of bad choices that lead to his fall. His heart was hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.
The writer of Hebrews gives us a command we can all seek to obey. It’s a command for all, not a specific spiritual gift for a few. It also makes a tidy three point message:
What are we to do? “Encourage one another.” We tend to limit the meaning of the word, “encourage” in the English to be an uplifting, positive message. However the underlying Greek word Parakaleo, while certainly including this sense, has further depth and is translated in some versions “exhort”.
Biblical encouragement is an exhortation to live faithfully for the truth. An online resource states, “Parakaleo can include the idea of giving help or aid but the primary sense in the New Testament is to urge someone to take some action, especially some ethical course of action. Sometimes the word conveys the idea of comfort, sometimes of exhortation but always at the root there is the idea of enabling a person to meet some difficult situation with confidence and with gallantry.” *
When are we to do it? “Day after day, as long as it is still called ‘Today’“. I have always thought the writer might be employing some humor here demonstrating the ongoing need to encourage, after all, each current day will always be called “Today”! This verse along with Hebrews 10:23-25 is the basis of our ministry’s name “Daily Encouragement”
Why are we to do it? “So that none of you will be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin“both the encourager and the one being encouraged, similar to the Proverb that states, “Whoever refreshes others will be refreshed” (Proverbs 11:25). We must always be on our guard lest we develop a hardened heart toward spiritual truth and obedience due to the deceitfulness of sin.
The deceitfulness of sin is rampant in our world and has been ever since Satan deceived Adam and Eve in the garden. But we believe the many means of being deceived by sin is increasing, especially due to technology. May God help each of us to boldly stand firm while contending earnestly for the faith once for all delivered to the saints. We urge, exhort, and warn you to be on your guard against the heart-hardening effect of sin’s deceitfulness.
Be encouraged today,

Praying manDaily prayer: Father, as believers, we are put to the test daily regarding our adherence to the Scriptures that teach right from wrong, truth from error. The Bible includes numerous examples of those who were obedient to Your laws and from those who chose to disregard them. Help us to remember that disobedience, disregard, or dilution of the Scriptures will weaken us and eventually harden our hearts to spiritual truths. We choose either to be shaped by the world or by the Word. Our will and desires cannot be shaped by both. We choose this day to be Your obedient servant no matter the consequences, for Your blessing is more to be desired than the applause of the world. Amen.

The apostle Paul once wrote, It is for freedom that Christ has set us free… Do not let yourselves be burdened again by the yoke of slavery. — Galatians 5:1
Hewas specifically writing about those who would impose all sorts of religious rules
and human traditions on believers. But these words could also apply to personal habits
and attitudes that we allow to enslave us, weigh us down, and steal our joy. Jesusintended to set us free by His sacrifice for us on Calvary, what are those things that tie us up, that trip our feet and weigh on our hearts? Is it a habit? An addiction? A cynical heart? A hardened attitude? An unwillingness to forgive? A prejudice? Jesus died for our freedom. If we allow anything to restrict us or shackle us to a sad, mediocre life, then we are missing His great gift, paid for at such a high price.
Dear God, show me the areas in my life where I’m acting like a captive, even though You have set me completely free in Christ.

This Jeep was parked in this very spot when I was a kid. It’s one of several old Willie’s Jeeps that the landowner has. In my imagination I can see young soldiers crossing the battlefield in this jeep. I imagine the stories of home that are exchanged. The men are hopeful because the war is over and they are returning home. I imagine that when the jeep is sold as surplus it falls into hands of someone who puts his heart and soul into making it roadworthy again. I can see him exit the highway on a whim to explore some mountain trail. He and his jeep are a good match. They are both rugged and free spirited. Not to bound down by the well traveled highway which goes only to and fro but not out. I imagine the fishing and camping trips with friends and laughter they enjoyed. The…

You are the servant of all. “He that

Service is the word of My disciples. I served
indeed, the humblest, the lowliest. I was at their
command. My highest powers were at their service.
Be used. Be used by all, by the lowest, the smallest. How
best you can serve? Let that be your daily seeking, not how
best can you be served.
Look around you. Do the aims and ambitions that man strives for bring peace, or the world’s awards bring heart-rest and happiness? No! indeed, man is at war with man. Those whom the world has most rewarded, with name, fame, honor, wealth, are weary and disappointed. And yet, to the listening ear, above the jangle of the world’s discordant cries, there echoes down the 1900 years My message, “Come unto Me.
all weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest.”
And the weary and disappointed who listen and turn to Me find indeed that rest. Joy of the Weary I am, Music to the Heart I am, Health to the Sick, Wealth to the Poor, Food to the Hungry, Home to the Wanderer,
Rapture to the Jaded, Love to the Lonely.
There is not one want of the soul that I do not supply for the asking,
and to you too, I long to be all.
Therefore will the Lord wait, that he may be gracious unto you.
